Nearly 60 members attended LICA’s 2019 Safety Seminar event which addressed a variety of important safety and regulatory issues that affect our members on a daily basis. We want to thank this year’s presenters who included: Tim Donnelly and Brian Connelly, Damage Prevention Liasons from New York 811 (the “Call Before You Dig” people) who provided the group with critical on-the-job safety guidelines and requirements for any excavation project. Next up was Emmett Russell, Consultant, and Brad Sant, VP of Safety & Education for ARTBA, who tag-teamed an educational and  interactive 4 hour training course on roadway safety with a special focus on night work, excavation and disaster response. This course also provided 4 PDH credits for eligible attendees. Lastly, we wish to thank Greg Perricone and Steve Sterlini of LICA member Safety Consulting & Compliance Corp. who gave a presentation to help attendees better understand the revised (yet still often confusing!) OSHA Illness & Injury Reporting Requirements.
