florida.pngLICA Contractor Heads to Help FLorida Hurricane Recovery

Just two days after Hurricane Irma devastated parts of the Caribbean and Florida, Haugland Energy, an affiliate of LICA member Grace Industries LLC, had already deployed 250 workers and more than 200 pieces of equipment to Florida to help PSEG and FPL (Florida Power & Light) restore power to the over 5 million Floridians left powerless in Irma’s wrath. Nearly 25% of Haugland Energy workers will bring critical first-hand experience from Hurricane Sandy, which devastated Long Island in 2012, but LICA board member Billy Haughland, Jr., principal for Haugland Energy, credits FPL for being “…extremely efficient under very difficult circumstances.” His crews will join nearly 13,000 other linemen waiting to help. While initial damage is assessed, crews are being staged at Daytona, turning the Speedway into one enormous parking lot. Check out photos from the staging area and Haugland’s convoy to Florida below.
