LICA Attends Kosciuszko Bridge Grand OpeningLICA Attends Kosciuszko Bridge Grand Opening

Last Wednesday evening, LICA Executive Director Marc Herbst joined the Governor and other high profile guests and elected officials at the grand opening reception of the Kosciuszko bridge, marked by the completion of the second and final span (including a 20 ft wide bikeway/walkway which offers magnificent views of Manhattan) which was set to open to the travelling public the following day. Many LICA member firms, including Our Rental Pumps, led by LICA board member Samantha Ruttura, served as subcontractors and/or suppliers on this $873 million design build project, which was praised by the Governor for being completed on budget and four years ahead of schedule. Working for Granite Construction as the sole vendor for concrete placing equipment, Our Rental Pump’s 65 meter boom pump helped keep everything moving quickly on this high profile project. Ruttura noted their boom pump, which reaches 210 feet, is “the largest concrete pump in the northeast, which makes it a necessity for the many Port Authority bridges we are working on.” LICA is proud to represent so many premier Long Island-based contractors, such as Our Rental Pumps, who quietly help build and maintain some of the most important - and impressive - infrastructure in our region!
