LICA Secretary/Treasurer Paul Farino
and Steve Labriola.

This November, elections will be held for certain key positions within Nassau and Suffolk County governments. With that in mind, LICA Executive Director Marc Herbst invited the leading nominees for each office to meet with LICA’s Board of Directors and labor partner representatives to open a dialogue and discuss industry related matters. LICA was pleased to have welcomed the following candidates:

  • For the office of Nassau County Executive:
Former Senator Jack Martins (R) and Legislator Laura Curran (D)

  • For the office of Nassau County Comptroller:
Steve Labriola (R) and Long Beach City Manager Jack Schnirman (D)

  • For the office of Huntington Town Supervisor:
Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R) and Councilwoman Tracey Edwards (D)

  • For the office of Suffolk County District Attorney:
    Ray Perini (R)

Current Suffolk County Police Commissioner Tim Sini, who is running on the Democratic ticket for Suffolk County District Attorney, accepted LICA’s invitation but did not attend due to a scheduling error.

LICA will continue to follow the nominees' campaigns and monitor the election process but will work to forge strong working relationships with whichever candidates are voted into office.
