March 20

The LICA 2018 Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, March 20th at Carlyle at the Palace in Plainview. The evening will be highlighted by the recognition of two deserving honorees: Mitch Pally, a long-time leader and advocate for Long Island’s transportation infrastructure, who currently serves as CEO of the Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI) and a member of the MTA Board of Directors, will be presented with the LICA Leadership Award for 2018.

The 2018 LICA Partnership Award will be presented to the Long Island Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA-LI), represented by Stephen Ebinger, CPA & Partner at LICA member CohnReznick. CFMA is an important industry partner and a major supporter of the charitable organization, Contractors For Kids. LICA urges all members to attend the annual meeting and to show your support for our honorees while you enjoy networking with fellow LICA members and key industry contacts. Click here for more information or register online. This event is FREE for all LICA member companies in good standing (included in annual dues). Sponsorships are available. For more information or questions, contact LICA Marketing Manager Lynn Barker at: lbarker@licanys.org.

A few brief minutes will also be dedicated to official LICA business to ratify the election of board members for new terms of office. James J. Pratt III, William Haugland Jr. and Nelson Fernandes are all completing their current three-year terms as members of the LICA Board of Directors. All three have indicated their willingness to serve an additional term. James Haney III, as chairman of the nominating committee, will recommend candidates for these positions at the next board of directors meeting, which will immediately precede the annual meeting. Following board action, the results will be presented before our membership at the annual meeting to follow.

Any LICA general contractor, subcontractor or supplier member in good standing (who agrees to accept the responsibility of a directorship) may seek a position on the board. Anyone who wishes to be considered for a board position must submit their request, in writing, to the nominating committee before the next board of directors meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
