The New York State Department of Transportation is transitioning to the Statewide Financial System (SFS) in April 2021. Members of the industry are invited and encouraged to attend any of the upcoming virtual Vendor Information Sessions to discuss the changes that will be implemented as a result of this transition. Further information is provided in the attached Notice to Vendors. As NYSDOT decommissions existing legacy systems, vendors doing business with NYSDOT need to be aware of a number of changes that will be implemented as a result to onboarding to SFS including the format of purchase orders, how vendors will receive purchase orders and contract encumbrance orders, how and where vendors will submit invoices for payment, and how payments for orders will be processed. Vendors should carefully review the Notice to Vendors (including the Vendor Checklist) to ensure that they take appropriate action to respond to these changes.
