Attn: Contractors – Attend The “Build Renewables” Summit: Nov. 16
In an effort to bring more work opportunities for local contractors, the New York State Laborers Organizing Fund (NYSLOF)/LiUNA is hosting an important Build Renewables Summit on Tuesday, November 16 at the Hyatt Regency in Rochester (125 E. Main Street, Rochester, NY). The summit was also convened to address developers’ concerns about a lack of qualified contractors to bid and work on upcoming solar and renewable projects in our state. This conference will serve as an opportunity to bring together a large group of solar/renewable developers and New York based contractors (both smaller contractors who currently work in solar and want to do bigger projects, as well as heavy/civil contractors who may not have worked in the solar/renewable space, but want to).
More than 15 of the largest solar/wind developers working in NYS will be in attendance, as well as several panelists who are relevant to the industry. The program will run from 10:00 am- 4:00 pm (including lunch break and Q&A session). Breakfast will be offered at 9:00 am and a cocktail reception will follow afterward at 7:00, where contractors will be encouraged to connect and engage with these developers. While many of the big developers are associated with grid scale renewable farms, virtually all of them have large and growing footprints in community solar like the Riverhead projects, transmission lines, and battery storage. These all provide outstanding opportunities for contractors to expand their portfolios. Proof of vaccination or recent negative covid test will be required to participate.
