Special Guest Speaker ARTBA Senior VP and Chief Economist Dr. Alison Premo Black

Long Island, NY – The Long Island Contractors’ Association (LICA) held its annual Fall Legislative Breakfast at the NYIT de Severksy Mansion on Friday October 18th which featured keynote speaker NYSDOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez in her first visit to Long Island as Commissioner and special guest speaker Dr. Alison Premo Black, Senior VP and Chief Economist of American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). At the breakfast, LICA laid out its infrastructure successes on Long Island from 2019 and set the agenda for the 2020 legislative session. The focus of the agenda is to ensure that Long Island receives its fair share of infrastructure funding and the continued commitment to maintain and improve the roads, highways and bridges on Long Island. Commissioner Dominguez also sought local perspective on the region’s transportation needs. Elected officials were also honored at the event. Pictures of the event can be found here.

“Long Island had a great year in terms of its infrastructure projects. It’s important to recognize the progress we made in 2019. Even more important is taking the opportunity to look forward and anticipate our priorities for 2020. Long Islanders deserve the absolute best roads, highways and bridges. Our focus continues to be on ensuring that both residents and visitors to Long Island can travel safely, securely and without inconvenience. I want to thank our speakers, especially Commissioner Dominguez for being our keynote speaker this year,” said Marc Herbst, Executive Director of the Long Island Contractors’ Association.
