MARC HERBST STATEMENT ON ANNOUNCED RECONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE 347

Long Island, NY – “For three years, LICA has vigorously advocated for the nearly 700,000 daily people who have waited for and deserved a better Route 347. That wait is about to be over. With the announcement that the bid for continued work of Route 347 is out, construction will resume this Spring. This project has been a priority focus for us to ensure that all Long Islanders can safely travel and we will continue to fight for funding better roads, highways and bridges across our community. I want to thank Governor Cuomo for his support for this and other critical infrastructure projects. I’d also like to applaud Assemblyman Mike Fitzpatrick for his continued dogged support and tip my hat to newly elected Senator Mario Mattera for being a fierce advocate. Finally, thanks to the DOT for its consistent support and funding one of the most important roadway construction projects on Long Island.”
